Project Relevance
The project is designed to decrease discrimination of UA women in the labour market in the countries of their temporary residence, as on average, in EU countries of their residence unemployment rate is higher for UA women than for men (40% versus 30%). 65% of those at working-age who are currently inactive are under a pressure to reconcile family responsibilities with work, which hinders their sustainable integration into the labour market.
Thus, the project increases UA women opportunities for self-employment in CCS, as it offers the flexible work surroundings and ensures work-life-balance. The self-employment in CCS is a great tool to reconcile the work and family life as it offers the flexible work surroundings as well as allows UA women to turn their capabilities into new job opportunities. To promote gender equality, ethics and EU values among UA women during implementation of the project, a special workshop “UA women’s human rights in the war condition through the prism of women’s human rights in the EU” is designed and discussed during “UA Women’s Day” with UA women, local communities and businesses.
To address problems and needs of UA women, the 3-steps methodology is used: motivation, deepening knowledge and making actions. The chosen methodology is the most suitable to achieving project’s objective: to increase inclusion of UA women into the labour market and society by exploring opportunities for self-employment in CCS (Music & Performing Arts, Audio-visual Arts, Design & Fashion, Artistic crafts & Beauty) with support of local CCS businesses.

The Methodology of the project
The innovative educational-social Model “Successful UA women in CCS” developed within the project, is based on 3-steps methodology: motivation, deepening knowledge and making actions. Following this methodology, the Model consists of three learning modules for UA women:
1. Motivation workshop “Innovation solutions in CCS for UA Women”
2. e-Studio “UA Women’s self-employment in CCS-how to be successful”
3. “UA Women’s Day” as social supporting mechanism for integration of UA women into the labour market and society.
This methodology of the Model forms a cyclical process where each step reinforces the others. Motivation step is crucial because it sets the foundation for engagement and willingness to learn. Once motivation is established, the second step is dedicated for deepening knowledge by participation in e-Studio, which provides the necessary competences for starting business in CCS. The third step involves transforming the motivation and acquired knowledge into concrete actions towards achieving goals. This general 3-steps methodology is a practical approach to achieve personal and professional growth of Ukrainian women towards self-employment in CCS.
